EUROPE OH EUROPE!

Now we have been part of Europe
Since nineteen ninety three
No longer can we rightly claim
A Britain great and free

No doubt we shall be a suburb
Called South West Germany
Then maybe lower Brussels
Or part of gay Pariee

Whatever currency we use
Be it Pfennigs or just Francs
Our shilling and our pence are lost
Gone from all our banks

And when in many years to come
Grand children ask us why
Their names are Fritz and Helga
We shall say “there, there, don’t cry”

It is part of some obscure plan
To make a stronger Europe
At least that’s what they tell us
For my part though, some hope!!!
