Do not say I have done my bit
To help my fellow man
Neither say, that’s it now
I have done all I can.
For if Our Lord looked down
Upon this mess we have made
Shrugged his shoulders, said
Cannot help you I am afraid
It is not my concern now
You’ve destroyed all I have done
I gave you more than man could ask
I gave to you my son.
But no, he never gives us up
Does not shake his head
He just picks us up again
Puts us on the road ahead.
Yes, if he turned his back on us
Within our hour of need
We would soon be up in arms
Decrying this foul deed.
So do that little extra
Above the call of duty
To repay GOD for all his help
And for this earth of beauty.
