Smile a While

Come along, let’s see you smile
Forget your troubles for a while
Of course for most they do exist
Cannot completely be dismissed

But let’s take time to re-assess
For an hour forget the mess
Blow the taxes, rent man too
Leave till tomorrow feeling blue

Just for now, think on, its spring
So come on then, let’s hear you sing
Something happy to lift your heart
Could even prompt your friends to start

Why not pass the time of day
To those you meet upon your way
A friendly word may just be what
These folk will need to stop the rot

All this can only do you good
You know its right, you know you should
And come tomorrow, who can say
You may just smile another day.
